Middle Amana

Middle Amana was the last of the villages to be built.  It was originally called Amana an die Ecke (Amana on the corner) since it was built where the road made a large turn.  Built on the top of the hill, with terraces full of grapevines on the south side overlooking the millrace, a person could certainly see the German influence.  It became the home of Amana Refrigeration when the old Middle Amana Woolen Mill was converted into a manufacturing plant for appliances.

Middle Amana is home to these businesses and attractions:

Bill Metz Tinsmith

Communal Kitchen and Cooper Shop Museum

Community 1st Credit Union

Dusk to Dawn B&B

Hahn’s Hearth Oven Bakery

Middle Amana Church

Rose’s Place B&B
